So there now . . . .
so, I am sitting here at work trying desperately to find some way of being productive, and it's not working. So I'm not working right now then . . . .
So, how was my weekend? Well, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, which was a relief. (I thought it would be bad mainly due to the fact that the previous weekend was amazing and that karma would come to collect what it was due) Actually, the best time came when James and I were able to have an amazingly honest conversation about what's going on in our lives. All on the 401 at 4:00 in the morning. It was the type of conversation that I haven't been able to have in a while - and it was dammned refreshing.
Then there was hockey. Sunday night hockey downtown at an arena by Queen and Jarvis. I was pumped. I was ready. By my third shift I was almost puking. A little out of shape? Damn, I have got to get my legs back under me. All in all I don't think that I embarassed myself to much and I made a great pass to spring my centreman for a breakaway goal. Final tally: 1 point, 1 puke. The puck went in the net . . . the puke went in the can. Need to exercise . . . . so I have indoor soccer tonight.
Last night was a good time. I was able to go see the Apples in Stereo down at the Legendary Horseshoe Tavern, which was organized by my stunningly organized (and hipster famous) friend Sofi Papamarko. A good time was had by all, especially the Apple's lead singer who was rambunctiously drunk and highly entertaining - flailing around the stage, asking if the band was ready to launch into a new tune and promptly counting them in without waiting for their response. I think the best thing about their whole performance was that it (a) featured the happiest guitarist in the world and (b) for those of you who have seen him, the Apple's frontman looks like an English folk singer, much less the indie popster that he is. I kept having visions of him covering any one of Dick Gaughan's songs. But I kept that observation/delusion to myself.
